There is a virus going around the world right now. This virus is known as Covid-19 or the Corona Virus. With this virus, there comes a cough, a fever, nasal congestion, etc. The virus is very serious among the countries, but some people don’t take it as seriously as they should.
Some people think to themselves “it’s a 1 in a million chance that I’ll get it,” so they don’t take as many precautions as others do.
Even though non-essential places are closed down, a kid named Aaron was out one day as if the corona virus did not exist. Others only leave when it’s necessary, but Aaron didn’t care about that. He left whenever he felt like it, even though he lives with his grandparents, who have very weak immune systems. Everyone knows that the corona virus mainly affects older people with weaker immune systems, but Aaron paid that little attention. One day Aaron was in
Walmart for some snacks, not wearing gloves, a mask or taking any precautions to avoid contracting the virus. Aaron treated this like a normal day and touched whatever he saw and liked, like a child.
A few days after this Walmart run and many other, Aaron started feeling really sick. He had a really high fever and a bad cough. He thought it was just a cold, but his grandparents were sure that it was more than that and they were scared for him and themselves.
They told him not to leave the house anymore and to try and distance himself from the rest of the household. He still didn’t take it seriously, because he still thought that he could never get it and was too young to have it affect him.
About a week later, Aaron’s symptoms had only worsened. His grandparents were scared and took him to the hospital to get him tested for the corona virus. It was no surprise to the family that he tested positive for it. Aaron was shocked though, he would’ve never thought that he would catch this virus. He was now really scared for his life, and apologized to his family for being so careless and selfish.
After a few weeks, Aaron was cleared to come home. He once again apologized and tried to stay far away from his family to keep them safe. His grandparents both went to get tested out of fear, and they were both clear of it. This scare made Aaron care much more about his surroundings, and taught him a lesson that anything can happen to anyone, and no one is immune to it. Aaron and his
family were much more lucky than a lot of other families I this world and he felt really bad but relieved.
